The Tesco Diet

What is the Tesco Diet ?

The Tesco diet is an online diet based upon the currently popular GI index (glycemic index). Other diets that use the G I index include the GI diet and the Montignac diet. Tesco have now started to put a GI index onto their food on their food labels to help you better plan your dieting.

About the Tesco Diet

The Tesco diet is simple to follow simply because it is based upon the gycemic index. To manage your GI will ensure you balance your sugar levels and combine food that will not raise your insulin levels (ever feel tired at 3pm after a heavy lunch?). Tesco manage their diet online to provide motivation whilst you lose weight.

How the Tesco Diet Works

As with most diets these days there are various phases. The first phase is strict but after you have gone through this you'll be able to re-introduce some foods into your diet. GI diets are very successful and people do not feel "full" after a meal but do not feel hungry - a different feeling from today.

The way the foods are digested means you don't store fat and your body starts to eat up the fat and thus you lose weight. GI is a simply rating on how foods produce blood sugar and how high. Because Tesco are now starting to label food with GI it's really going to help you with your GI Tesco diet.

Should You choose The Tesco Diet ?

The Tesco Diet as we have seen is based upon the universally accepted Glycaemic Index (Gi) (a rating of certain foods depending on their effects on blood sugar levels.) Because Tesco are now starting to label selected foods with their Gi rating for your benefit it's going to be easier to follow than other diets where you have to buy loads of recipe books and work it out for yourself.

Low and medium Gi food can make you feel fuller for longer and reduce food cravings between meals, which will help you to control your weight. Look out for the big blue circles in store on selected low and medium Gi foods.

Some low and medium Gi foods are ones you might have thought were off limits - like certain pastas and breads. But it's just this kind of food that will fill you up and keep you fuller for longer.
